EQUIPMENT ;
The equipment on hire shall always remain the full legal & absolute property of WATERPROOF CAMERA HIRE.COM ( Ness Associates Ltd. - The Company )
The Hirer has no authority to assign, sell or re-hire the equipment without the express permission of the Company.
The Hirer shall take all reasonable care of the equipment to ensure it is not lost, stolen or damaged in any way during the period of the hire.
The Company does not warrant or guarantee the equipment but takes all care to ensure the equipment is in excellent & fully operational condition at the time of despatch. A check list of items is supplied with each piece of hired equipment. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to check this list upon receipt & to ensure all parts are returned after the period of hire. Any shortage of the listed items at the time of return to the Company will be fully billed to the Hirer.
The Hirer is fully responsible for the safe – keeping of the equipment. If the equipment is lost, stolen or damaged then the Hirer will be held fully responsible & will be charged for the item replacement or repair. There are no exceptions to this policy.
The Hirer shall notify the Company immediately or as soon as possible in the event of loss, theft or damage of the equipment. Please notify the Company by phone, text or e mail.

If the equipment is returned with damaged parts, then the Hirer will pay for the cost of the repair & replacement parts. An Administration Fee of £25.00 is charged to rectify the damaged or missing parts.
CANCELLATION POLICY ;
If the hire of equipment is cancelled before the hire period commences, the following penalty applies ;
1 or more months before the hire start NO PENALTY
Within 7 days of making the booking/ reservation NO PENALTY
2 – 4 weeks before the hire starts 25% OF THE HIRE COST
1 – 2 weeks before the hire starts 30% OF THE HIRE COST
1 – 6 days before the hire starts 50% OF THE HIRE COST
REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT ( RSD );
The Hirer will be required to leave a REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT for each piece of equipment hired. Each piece of hired equipment will have a RSD & the value of this is shown along with the hire cost of the specific camera.
This RSD will be secured on the same credit / debit as the hire charges.
The RSD will be returned when the equipment is checked by the Company & found to be in a complete & good condition. The Company will return the RSD within 1 -2 working days of receipt of the equipment. This RSD will be credited to the same credit / debit card as the hire charges.
LATE RETURNS ;
If the equipment is returned late, then a penalty equal to the additional period of delayed return will be charged at the normal hire charge plus an administration charge of £25.00 per hire.
EXTENDING THE HIRE PERIOD ;
If you wish to extend the hire period, please contact the Company as soon as possible to arrange an extension period.
DELIVERY OF EQUIPMENT ;
The Company will despatch the hired equipment in 2 methods.
Small or Medium cameras will be delivered by The Royal mail -
Special Delivery™ Next Day
Guaranteed delivery next day
LargerCameras will be delivered by the Courier Company. The Courier company will also advise you when the package is due & will amend delivery times to suit you, if necessary. However, you must respond immediately to the Courier company if you wish a change of delivery time.
Full details are shown in the Delivery Details box at the top of the Home page. Please note there is a small Surcharge for Saturday & Sunday deliveries.
An e mail confirming despatch will be send to you advising the time the hired Equipment leaves our Depot.
The Company cannot accept responsibility for non performance of Royal Mail or the courier company in respect of delivery.
The hired equipment will require a signature from the person hiring the equipment when it is delivered to the address specified on the credit / debit card.
If you wish the equipment to be delivered to an alternative address, please contact the Company to make these delivery address changes. You will need to be present at either location.
HOW IS THE HIRED EQUIPMENT PACKED ?
The small & medium cameras are wrapped in “ bubble wrap “ & placed inside a large padded envelope.
The larger cameras are supplied in boxes again in “ bubble wrap “ .
In addition, all cameras are provided with protective camera cases
RETURNOF THE HIRED EQUIPMENT ;
The hired equipment must ideally be mailed or collected by the Courier company by 18.00 on the last day of the hire period. The absolute time for either mailing or the courier collection of the hired equipment is 11.00am on the day following the last day of the confirmed hire period. After this time, the late return penalty will be applied.
THE HIRER ;
The Hirer shall at all times fully indemnify the Company against all actions, costs, claims, legal proceedings & liability from the associated use of the hired equipment. The Company will accept no responsibility for any legal action on behalf of the Hirer’s use of the hired equipment.
PAYMENT :
The hired equipment will only be despatched if the payment has been fully approved. Your credit card/ debit card will be processed immediately upon confirmation of the order. This will then enable prompt release of the equipment on the day prior to the commencement of the hire period.
INSURANCE :
It is absolutely the Hirer’s responsibility to arrange insurance of the hired equipment during the period of the hire. This insurance must cover the full cost of replacement or repair in the case of Theft, Loss or any type of Accidental or Consequential Damage however caused.
WE MUST STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF ENSURING YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE TO COVER THE HIRED EQUIPMENT.
We provide below, details of specialised insurance Companies where you can directly purchase full insurance cover for the hired equipment. If you intend to use your own house or travel insurance, please carefully check the conditions on your own home or travel insurance policy to confirm the policy covers for Loss, Theft or Damage to the hired equipment.
